Going Gold Mini Sessions – Sept. 12, 2015

claire minis

In May of 2014 4-year-old Claire was diagnosed with a cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma. After a year that included 17 rounds of chemotherapy, 4 surgeries, a week in the ICU, and over 100 overnight stays at the hospital, she is in remission. She fought hard physically, and now she’s ready to fight back in another way.

Ewing’s Sarcoma receives VERY MINIMAL funding, meaning survival rates have not improved in decades. More than one out of every four diagnosed with Ewing’s will not survive. During treatment Claire bonded via social media with another Ewing’s patient, known as Smiley Kylie. Kylie passed away on February 13, 2015. One of Kylie’s dying wishes was that her family kills childhood cancer. We want to help that wish come true!

Claire’s oncologist at Johns Hopkins is actively working on promising research to hopefully improve Ewing’s Sarcoma survival rates. Claire’s goal is to get at least 20 people from each of the 50 states to send her $20. All the money she receives will be donated to Johns Hopkins University to be used for research. For the month of September Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation will MATCH all funds raised by Claire!
